During my Engagement at CJPO, • Provided strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring informed decision-making. • Monitored and followed up on cases requiring close attention, maintaining proactive communication. • Drafted and prepared legal documents for over 200 clients, adhering to precision and confidentiality. • Identified cases necessitating court representation and promptly referred clients for appropriate support.

Protection Legal Officer

Danish Refugee Council works with humanitarian, development and peacebuilding activities to ensure a dignified life for refugees, the displaced, and displacement-affected people. DRC’s legal Aid program is a key component of DRC’s protection work, either as a stand-alone component or Integral part of the Holistic protection response. During my engagement at DRC; • Carried out activities focusing on legal support according to work plan and allocated budget in accordance with International and national laws and regulations, • Facilitated and advocated access to legal documentation for the target community; for more than 5,000 IDPs and Host Communities across Somali region in collaboration with relevant government authorities and humanitarian agencies, • I enhanced the capacity and linkage between formal, customary, and community structures by organizing more than seven capacity-building trainings for government stakeholders and community-based structures on relevant international and national laws and procedures. • I Conducted information dissemination on the legal rights and procedures for 25,000 IDPs and Host Communities across Somali region with a focus on issues affecting the target population through mobile protection desk and community outreach. • I established three new inclusive peace-building committees and strengthened two existing committees for IDPs, returnees, and host communities living in the Somali region.
